Looks like a small to moderate NNW swell is on tap this Saturday with top NS reefs hitting 4′ Saturday but Ali’i should be smaller esp. inside 2′ hopefully 3′. This is a nice Safe surf size for our Keiki.
Don’t be fooled…sure, most the kids are just having a good time, but an unknown number of these youths will be on the World Tour someday.
Just ask heaps of Pros like the Moniz Ohana, John Florence, Tatiana Weston-Webb, Alessa Quizon, Freddy Patacchia and Pancho Sullivan just to name a few.
Oh, and check this out…In years past NS Menehune contest director Ivy Blomfield has done an amazing job…and Ivy is Honolua Blomfield’s Auntie!
And in case you didn’t know, Honolua is 3X World Champ and sits at #6 on the World Longboard Rankings. She’s in El Salvador for the Finals Day format this weekend: Winner Take All. It’s looking good for Saturday in El Salvador.
Did Ivy know way back when her lovely and talented niece was ‘12 and under’ that she’d be a multiple World Champ someday? You never know so come on down for the fun in the surf and sun…and just maybe catch a future World Champ. 🙂

The Iconic North Shore Menehune Surf contest at Alii Beach Park in Haleiwa, 8 a.m. Ages 3 to 12 will compete.
The decision will be made at ~7:00am each morning on which divisions will run. Our main concern is to have the safest conditions for each age group.
