SAN CLEMENTE, CA/USA (Friday, September 18, 2015) – Finals Day has been called ON at the Hurley Pro and Swatch Women’s Pro, stops No. 8 and 7 respectively on the Samsung Galaxy World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT), in three-to-four foot surf at Lower Trestles. Competition will get underway with the Men’s Quarterfinals at 8 a.m. followed by the Men’s Semifinals, the Women’s Semifinals, the Women’s Heritage Series Heat, the Women’s Final and the Men’s Final.
“There are some great waves this morning,” said WSL Commissioner, Kieren Perrow. “That swell filled in through the day yesterday and there are some really good sets coming through. We’ll get underway at 8 a.m. with the Men’s Quarterfinals and we’ll run through both competitions and crown the Men’s and Women’s Champions today.”
First to take to the water today will be Joel Parkinson (AUS) against Filipe Toledo (BRA) in the opening Quarterfinal of the Hurley Pro.
Today will also see World Champions Lisa Andersen and Sofia Mulanovich match-up in a historic battle in the first ever women’s Heritage Series Heat.
Lully, but fun, SW swell will continue on Friday as modest, new SSE swell also fills in. We’ll see a pick up in local NW windswell for at least slightly broken up conditions. All swells will trend down through the weekend. Surfline.
