1. Jordy Smith (ZAF): Keeping the hopes of a South African win in his home waters, Jordy Smith surfed a high scoring heat to advance to the QuarterFinals. In a spectacular three man Round 4 heat where 1st and 2nd placed surfers progress to the Quarterfinals, Jordy Smith finished a very close 2nd behind USA surfer Conner Coffin with Australia’s Joel Parkinson in 3rd. A popular result as Smith goes to the QuarterFinals!
2. Griffin Colapinto (USA): The emerging 19-year-old, Griffin  Colapinto from San Clemente California used the magnificent waves at Jeffreys Bay to display his superb style and power. Colapinto scored the highest heat tally of the event so far, 17.70 for his top two rides which included an outstanding 9.57 on his final ride as he sent Australian wildcard Mikey Wright packing and exiting the event in equal 13th place. Colapinto to the final 12 and looking incredible on these perfect waves in South Africa. Interview Included

3. Filipe Toledo (BRA) – The defending event champion and current Number 2 in the world, Toledo was too fast, too powerful and too good for fellow countryman Yago Dora. Toledo advances to Round 4, the final 12 surfers remaining and he’s looking super dangerous to back up last years sensational win.Interview in Portuguese
4. Kanoa Igarashi (Japan): Fantastic surfing from Japan’s top surfer. Igarashi posted an excellent 8.67 early in the heat and dominated Willian Cardosa (BRA). The 20 year old Iagarshi is through to the final 12 surfers and he’s revelling in the outstanding surf at the world’s best point break at Jeffreys Bay South Africa.
