PRAIA DE SUPERTUBOS, Peniche, Portugal (Saturday, March 5, 2022) – Stop No. 3 on the World Surf League (WSL) 2022 Championship Tour (CT), the MEO Pro Portugal presented by Rip Curl has been called back ON, starting at 7:32 a.m GMT with the women’s Round of 16 at Supertubos.
The continued good conditions provide plenty of great scoring opportunities this morning in Peniche and competition will get underway shortly with an important day of competition ahead.
Up first in the water will be the women’s Round of 16 with World No. 5 Johanne Defay (FRA) up against the opening day standout Molly Picklum (AUS) in the first heat of the round.
The current World No. 1 Brisa Hennessy (CRI) will be facing Courtney Conlogue (USA) in Heat 3.
The women’s Quarterfinals and the men’s Round of 32 have been put on standby for a potential start later today. If the men paddle out, WSL Champion Italo Ferreira (BRA) will take on the current World No. 1 Imaikalani Devault (HAW) in what should be an exciting battle of different styles.
